PP KOVANDA: COLLABORATIVE ROBOTICS - How to quickly and efficiently address workforce?
At PP KOVANDA, we have been addressing this question for many years. As one of the leading Czech system integrators and specialists in collaborative robotics, we have a clear answer! The solution lies in a flexible, compact, multi-purpose, but most importantly, safe workstation.
At the dawn of collaborative robotics, it was not easy to design solutions for our customers that inherently deviated from standard norms and technical specifications for industrial robots. Around the world, many inadequate and unsafe applications were emerging. However, at PP KOVANDA, we always had a clear vision: Safery must come first! This principle aligns with the motto of one of our key customers: SAFETY FIRST! Our major clients include multinational automotive corporations, and it was through our initial discussions with their EHS safery specialists on how to implement cobots in the early stages of collaborative robotics that we became true experts in this field. After all, nothing can replace experience and hands-on practice.
Many collaborative robot integrations ultimately require active and passive safety elements due to factors such as customer cycle time requirements and the specific nature of the application. So why choose cobots over industrial robots? This decision must always be carefully considered. However, one key factor is their simplicity of operation. Thanks to their intuitive controls, even less experienced operators can quickly adapt to application needs. Additionally, the low weight of collaborative robotic arms is another advantage, making them a preferred choice over traditional industrial robots in certain scenarios.

It is clear that collaborative applications cannot be deployed everywhere. Choosing the right application is crucial, and success lies in a fast return on investment, workstation flexibility, solving labor shortages, and rapid implementation form order to commissioning. With the J.A.R.V.I.S._MPB collaborative workstation on a mobile platform, customers gain all these success factors. This compact workstation, equipped with FANUC CRX collaborative robots and a gripper, meets all normative requirements for collaborative applications. It is primarily designed for CNC machining centers or for part removal from conveyor belts at the end of automation in IMM (injection molding machines), followed by stacking into KLTs, gitterboxes, or pallets. However, thanks to its compact dimensions, it can be adapted for nearly any purpose.
By opting for an optional vision system, the need for precise part fixation is eliminated, allowing J.A.R.V.I.S._MPB to be used quickly and efficiently across multiple workstations with high repeatability. This solution not only enables autonomous processing but also allows customers to distribute the initial investment across multiple work positions.
